Meet Our Staff

Ron Berger, PT, ATC, LAT
Ron Berger, the owner of Atlas, is a registered Physical Therapist and certified Athletic Trainer. Ron earned his degree from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in 1992. Ron has worked with professional, college and amateur athletes in Birmingham, Augusta, Tampa and Jacksonville. Mr. Berger is a clinical instructor for the University of North Florida, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, and The Medical College of Georgia. He enjoys working with athletes and presently also serves as an athletic trainer for Bartram Trail High School in St. Johns County. Ron is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Ron, his wife Tina, and their three sons reside in Mandarin and are active in the community.
Adam Schoenberg, MPT, ATC, LAT
Adam Schoenberg is a Licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer. He graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor's degree in sports medicine and a master's degree in physical therapy. Adam has experience working with all levels of athletes, and has attended internships with emphasis on both geriatric and pediatric care. Adam has been employed at Atlas since the Summer of 2001.
Thomas Berger, DPT
Thomas Berger, a licensed physical therapist, received the degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2003. Thomas received a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida with an emphasis in health and wellness. At the University of St. Augustine, he received advanced training in manual therapy skills in spinal evaluation and treatment, including manipulation. Thomas and his wife Rebekah and daughter Sarah reside nearby in Mandarin.
Leo Calderon, MPT, ATC,LAT
Leo Calderon is a licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer. He earned both his Bachelors in Athletic Training and Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of North Florida. Throughout his experience, Leo has worked extensively with athletes from all levels, high school to professional. He has also had the opportunity to work a wide range of neurologically involved patients.
Jeanette Micelotta, MPT
Jeanette Micelotta is a licensed physical therapist who has been practicing physical therapy for over 29 years. Originally from New York, she moved to Florida in 1996 and has specialized in Women's Health since that time. She has a Master's Degree in musculoskeletal physical therapy and has done extensive lecturing, teaching, and consulting throughout the New York and Jacksonville metropolitan area. Jeanette has been interviewed by radio shows and magazines such as Cosmopolitan and New Woman. Her list of clients includes personalities from the screen, stage and arts, as well as business tycoons. Jeanette is extremely skilled in manual physical therapy techniques and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Fibromyalgia Network, and the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
Lisa Senich, DPT
Lisa Senich, a licensed physical therapist, earned her degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University in 1999. At the University of St. Augustine, she received advanced training in manual therapy skills in spinal evaluation and treatment, including manipulation. Following graduation, Lisa was named team physical therapist for Jacksonville University athletics. Lisa and her husband Phil currently reside in Fruit Cove with their two sons.
Debra Tester, DPT
Debra Tester is a licensed physical therapist that earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2009. She attended the University of North Florida and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training in 2007. Her education at the University of St. Augustine emphasized orthopaedic and manual therapy training with a strong focus on spinal evaluation. Debra and her husband, Robbie, currently live in Mandarin.
Nick DeWit, MA, ATC, LAT
Nick is a certified Athletic Trainer and certified Golf Fitness Instructor. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Movement Studies and Master's degree in Athletic Training Education from California State University in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Nick has more than four years of clinical experience and has worked athletes of all levels from youth to professional.
Nick, an avid golfer, received certification from Titleist Performance Institute as a golf fitness instructor. He has worked to develop golf fitness classes at Atlas to better serve the golfing community.
Dawn Marie Martin, PTA, LMT
Dawn Marie Martin recently relocated to Florida, is a graduate of Newbury College, Brookline, MA. She received her scholarship from the United States Naval Reserve. She served 8 years of reserve duties with an Honorable Discharge in 1998. She then furthered her education by attending Pennsylvania Institute of Massage Therapy in Quakertown, PA and became a nationally certified massage therapist. Her passion for helping others is evident in her 15 years of experience.
Garry Gillis, M.Ed., ATC, LAT
Garry earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida and Master's degree in Education with emphasis in Cardiovascular Function from Furman University. Garry has been associated with high school athletics in Northeast Florida for 18 years. He is an active member of the Athletic Trainer's Association of Florida (ATAF) and has served on boards of community organizations. Garry, his wife Dawn, and two daughters, Vanessa and Kalea, live in St. Johns.
Jerry Stevens, ATC, LAT
Jerry Stevens, ATC, LAT was President and owner of FirstChoice Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation, Inc for ten year and is actively involved in the clinical aspect of athletic training. In 2008 he was recognized as the C.I.C. Athletic Trainer of the Year for the State of Florida. He received his B. S. degree from the University of Florida, honors, in 1984. He has been an active member of the N.A.T.A. since 1982 and certified since 1986.
Jerry has worked with a variety of athletes and sports teams. Currently, Jerry is the Head Athletic Trainer for Mandarin High School. He is an accredited clinical instructor for the University of North Florida. In December of 2007 Jerry was appointed to the Jacksonville Sports Medicine board chairing the relationship committee for secondary schools.
Jerry is a native to Jacksonville and participates in community sports activities. As an avid runner, he has completed 18 Gate River Runs finishing in the top 10 % each time. He and his wife, Kathleen, and their two children Brian and Meghan reside in the Jacksonville community of Mandarin. AL # 428
Kimberly Wells, LPTA, Marketing Director
Kimberly Wells, a native of Jacksonville, is a graduate of Florida Community College of Jacksonville. She has practiced as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant since December 2003. It was at that time, she was employed by Atlas Physical Therapy specializing as the Aquatic Therapy Director. Kimberly also treats, along with Jeanette Micelotta, the special population of Women's Health patients.
In addition, Kimberly is the director of sales and marketing for Atlas Physical Therapy.
